I heard that Odysseus is home, killing his suitors. Life has been rather boring now that Odysseus is no longer at sea. I have no one left to torment. I secretly hope that one of the suitors will kill Odysseus. But, the suitors are all weaklings so the chances of that happening are slim. My days consist of traveling around the sea. I wrecked a couple ships yesterday because the people in them never pray to me anymore. I don’t tolerate people who don’t have respect for me. Now I am going to go cause some earthquakes and morn about my poor blind son.

Ah, Odysseus is home. I am still angry at him for blinding my poor little giant cyclops but, I realize that I’ve caused him enough pain. I kept him from going back to Ithaca long enough. I am not fully forgiving him, and I secretly hope that the suitors finish him off. It would be really great if one of the suitors could blind his son. I wonder how he would feel if Telemachus walked around without any eyes like Polyphemus. Speaking of Telemachus, I heard he recently took a boat ride from Sparta. Maybe I could have blinded him myself. I love having my powers. There are so many possibilities. In addition, I am still mad at Athena for helping Odysseus.

To my disgust, the Phaeacians helped Odysseus get back to Ithaca. So I, god of the earthquake, asked Zeus for permission to punish them. I promised Odysseus would suffer long and hard before he returned to Ithaca, but now he is home and I can’t do anything about it. Those Odysseus-loving Phaeacians needed punishment for assisting Odysseus so I was planning to pile a huge mountain around their port. But, Zeus gave me great advice. He said I should first turn the returning ship, the one Odysseus traveled in, into stone and let it sink. That way, all the Phaeacians will be in awe. Subsequently, I did so with a flick of my hand. I am very pleased with my work. The Phaeacians get what they deserve.
